Greenville Chautauqua, South Carolina

George Frein, PhD, a founding member of the National Chautauqua Tour, brought Chautauqua back to Greenville in 1999, and the Greenville Chautauqua has been in constant production ever since. In 2000, Buncombe County, in cooperation with Greenville Chautauqua, began presenting Chautauqua in Asheville, NC In 2009 Greenville Chautauqua expanded to Spartanburg, SC, first sponsored by Wofford College and now by the Spartanburg County Public Libraries. In 2019 the Transylvania County Libraries began sponsoring events in Brevard, NC.

Ashland Chautauqua, Ohio

Chautauqua first came to Ashland in the summer of 2000 through the auspices of Ohio Chautauqua. The Chautauqua spirit caught hold in Ashland. Since that time, Ashland Chautauqua has become an institution in North Central Ohio and a favorite way for residents of the area to celebrate their love of history, their love of learning, and their love of simply having a good time. Its quality and popularity earned Ashland Chautauqua the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce "Best Cultural and Entertainment Business" award in 2017.

Tulsa Chautauqua, Oklahoma

Tulsa Chautauqua moved to the Tulsa Historical Society in 2016, a completely renovated historical mansion more suitable to the Organization's historical mission. The Chautauqua's spacious, white, iconic tent is back, but with improvements. It's now staked down against spring storms to a mud-free concrete pad, with numerous pole fans circulating the summer air. Parking is also closer, indoor restrooms are at attendees disposal, and a lush, sloping lawn is open to picnickers for their enjoyment.
